Volunteer
Health care ministries and Nazarene Medical Organization have several types of opportunities to get involved in easing the physical needs of those suffering globally with little access to medical care. Even if you are not a health care professional, but have a passion for helping others, there is a place for you to volunteer.
Like a pebble makes a ripple in a pond, each of us can make a difference that will touch people around the world.
Get Involved
- Assist a team: People are needed to help prepare medical teams for their trip. For example, pill counters, logistical help, and pastors who provide spiritual counsel and pray are all needed for a successful team.
- Serve a team: Set up prayer support from the home front. Assist in packing supplies and medications. Write letters of encouragement for the teams to read while on the field.
- Pray: Pray for the work, asking God to bless the efforts to bring hope to people in need. Pray for safety, unity, and protection. Pray for medical personnel to feel called to meet the needs. Pray for teams to be formed to go and serve. Nothing we do is more important than prayer
- Give financial support: Assist someone to go and minister or give towards medical ministries on the field
- Stay informed: Read the prayer alerts, team e-mail newsletters, and stories from the field. Learn about the country and area where the team is going to work. Attend the team report meeting or service and hear from the team members just exactly how they were used and how God blessed their efforts.
