Medical Trips
Teams of volunteer medical personnel donate their skills and resources for a short-term trip and travel abroad to offer basic health care to the needy. Although usually more than half of the teams are made up of medical professionals, each team also needs support personnel such as aides, mechanics, and pastors.
NMO works with the regions in determining a location and lays the groundwork for the country to receive a medical team. Medical teams work in a variety of settings.
The preparation of the team is extremely important and you will be provided with resources prior to arriving on the field to make sure your trip is successful. The team will work very closely with the local people and in-country missionaries at any given location to assist in crossing language and cultural barriers. It is the desire of NMO to work along side the local compassionate/evangelism committee to make the most of the medical team. Evangelism is a major component of the medical missions trips through which the time in the clinic is optimized.
