Nazarene Disaster Response

Statement of Purpose...

To provide the Church of the Nazarene a means of responding to the victims of natural and man-made disasters.
To serve the needs of people regardless of race, creed or economic status concentrating on assistance to the poor, elderly and handicapped for longer term relief and reconstruction.
To recruit volunteers, skilled and unskilled, to meet the needs (physical and spiritual) of persons in disaster situations.
To develop the capacity to operate projects in areas of the Church of the Nazarene population concentration but to always be open to cooperation with the American Red Cross, state Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), and other organizations engaged in disaster response.
To develop a working relationship with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (F.E.M.A.) and other government agencies involved in disaster operations.
