History of NMO...
In 1975, a group of Nazarene doctors and dentists formed the Nazarene
Action Fellowship. In 1985, it was officially reorganized as the Nazarene
Medical-Dental Fellowship.
With greater numbers of health care professionals becoming involved in
medical missions, it was apparent that the organization should be
expanded to include all health care professionals. In 1988, the
constitution was revised and the name was changed to Nazarene Health Care
Ministries (NHCM).
In 2006, after undergoing many changes in staff and structure, the name was
changed to Nazarene Medical Organization (NMO). A different
name seemed best to reflect a new beginning for this team of Nazarene healthcare
professionals.
NMO has been involved in a variety of international health care ministries, donating
medicines and equipment to mission hospitals and clinics, providing short-term
personnel for various assignments, and working with Nazarere Compassionate
Ministries and the World Mission Division in their worldwide ministries.
