Home-BasedCare: The Silent Heroes

Establishing and training people for Home-Based Care Groups is a crucial part of NCM’s AIDS ministry. Home-Based Care seeks out those who are so afflicted with HIV and AIDS that they can no longer meet their basic needs. Volunteers have one of the most difficult and rewarding ministries. Often, neighbors, friends, family, and some in the church avoid and abandon the terminally ill out of fear. One or two volunteers are a true blessing when they pay a visit, read from the Bible, speak words of comfort, hold a hand, do some cooking and washing laundry, showing that Jesus cares about them regardless of their health.
