"Acts of God" After-School Program
The "Acts of God" after-school program is reaching out to 130 Iraqi refugee children and youth (KG-12th grades) who are unable to attend school. The program runs 4 days a week from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Damascus Nazarene Church/School complex and provides a chapel service, counseling for the students, discipleship training and instruction in Arabic, English, computers, science, and math.
The "Acts of God" program is successful in reaching children and youth for Christ while they wait with their families to be resettled.
For the cost of $25 a month, a child gets 4 days a week of chapel and instruction, occasional field trips, summer Christian camp, great relationships with adults from the Damascus Church of the Nazarene and a sandwich. For many of the students, this is their main meal of the day.
Supporting Acts of God is a great way to provide hope and a grounding in Christ that could change their lives forever.
