Vidrare Orphanage
The village of Vidrare consists of a boarding school for three surrounding shepherd communities and an orphanage for handicapped children. A ministry team travels to the school weekly to share a Bible story and participate in craft time with the children. Families in the community are excited about the program and attendance has been better than expected. It has recently been discovered that persistent poverty has stifled the joy and hope that children should have as they grow. NCM has begun a program to provide birthday parties to children who have never even had a birthday cake. Its success has been clear; joy and encouragement have once again captured children who face difficult daily struggles. NCM – Bulgaria also visits the handicapped orphanage regularly to interact with the children and entertain them with fun activities.
